SMSW 2015 Rider Portraits

I'd like to reiterate Jenny's thanks to everyone who came out today. We were certain we wouldn't be able to top our record, but you all came through in the cold and the rain with a truly inspired effort. The results are unbelievable. It was great to see a lot of you back again this year and great to meet a few new faces; speaking of faces... Here are this year's Rider Portraits.

The Supermarket Street Sweep is an annual bike race that benefits the SF-Marin Food Bank! For the past 10 years, hundreds of participants have zipped around the city to local supermarkets and brought back thousands of pounds of food to donate to this wonderful charity.

2006: 80 racers - 1,172 lbs of food
2007: 110 racers - 1,595 lbs.
2008: 150 racers - 5,266 lbs.
2009: 198 racers - 7,507 lbs.
2010: 171 racers - 6,920 lbs. + $4,877

2011: 201 racers - 7,990 lbs. + $9,552

2012: 119 racers - 6,552 lbs. + $7405.64
2013: 149 racers - 10,615 lbs. + $14,222

2014: 134 racers - 12,095 lbs. + $14,794

2015: 109 racers - 12,218 lbs. + $13,194

Race Details

WHEN: Saturday, December 3, 2016. Rider check-in starts at 10:30am. Race starts at high noon.

WHERE: Cupid Span's (Bow & Arrow) at Folsom and Embarcadero.

PRE-REGISTER: Eventbrite (The first 200 to sign up will receive special swag!)

CARGO RACE: Bring back the heaviest load of food from the designated grocery stores.

POINTS RACE: Buy specific food items from the designated grocery stores and tally as many points as possible.

TEAM RACE: Race with up to 5 members to bring back as much food as possible; the heaviest tally wins!

DOLLARS FOR DINNERS: Raise money for the SF-Marin Food Bank. Every $1 you raise provides 3 meals for those in need.

WHAT TO BRING: Bag, box or crate (whatever you rock to the grocery store), a lock and money to buy items (suggested $15-30, whatever is comfy, everything helps).

The event ends @ 4pm. The after party location is at The SF Food Bank.

All food and proceeds will be donated to the SF-Marin Food Bank.
